FIS-level fine-tuning for competition

FIS-level fine-tuning for competition

From snow to a race-ready slopes - precision, timing, safety

A FIS-compliant race slope is not created overnight. The module "Fine-tuning for the competition" of our "The Race Base" program focuses on the professional fine-tuning of the slope for race day . The aim is to create a race-ready course that meets both World Cup standards and the highest safety requirements.

Race course fine-tuning: Where technique meets timing

In the final phase before the ski race, every detail counts:

  • The perfect slope profile
  • The optimum snow hardness
  • Precise coordination among all teams

Participants learn how to apply targeted techniques and structured workflows to deliver a high-performance, safe and rule-compliant race course

The training reflects current FIS requirements, the specific demands of each discipline (e.g. slalom, giant slalom, super-G and downhill) as well as the impact of changing weather and snow conditions.

Main topics in module 2:

  • Designing the ideal slope profile for different race formats
  • Hardening and compacting the snow layer - adapted to temperature and snow consistency
  • Snow-removal techniques in the event of fresh snow a few days before or shortly before the race
  • Avoiding errors through precise snow processing and resource-efficient use of water
  • Safety management & team communication on the racecourse

Your advantages with module 2:

  • Training according to international FIS standards
  • Reduced safety risks and fewer communication errors
  • Efficient use of resources: less water, lower machine wear
  • Faster transition from racing to commercial ski operations
  • Higher quality of slope preparation and less reworking
